After a two-month long registration and academy voting process, nominees for the 3rd edition of the Groove Awards will be unveiled at Serena Hotel-Kigali on Sunday.
According to one of the organizers; Rene Herbert Nsengiyumva, the event; dubbed ‘Groove Awards 2015 Nomination Night’, will bring together the people who submitted their content for nomination as well as other industry players and media personalities.
"We started the registration process in September and closed on October 18. The voting was done by the board panel and media personalities. This Sunday, we will officially release the list of those nominated for this year’s Groove Awards,” he said.
Groove Awards aim at promoting, exposing and celebrating gospel talents in East Africa.
"We want to raise the gospel talents we have in Rwanda, give them a chance to shine on the regional scene. We want people to know that gospel isn’t just worship and keeping in touch with the Lord, but also a profession through which one can make a living,” he noted.
The event will also feature performances by gospel choirs and artistes.
Category winners are awarded a fully paid professional album cover photo shoot communication gadgets, and a fully sponsored co-headline concert in Kigali for the best male and female artistes, among others.
