THIS year’s national Kung-fu championship is set for Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, according the Rwanda Kung Fu Federation president, Jackson Mucyo Havugimana.
THIS year’s national Kung-fu championship is set for Sunday at Amahoro Indoor Stadium, according the Rwanda Kung Fu Federation president, Jackson Mucyo Havugimana.
Havugimana said that the championship is set to attract fifteen teams which will all be vying for individual and team trophies. The one-day tournament will be played in three categories namely; Taulu, Sanda and Materials.
"We are ready for finishing the season and the teams are also well prepared for the tournament. We believe that the end will be good,” noted Havugimana.
The competition will be played in different categories and in both genders, including juniors (aged 4-8 years) and (9-16 years) as well as the senior category (17-35 years).
He added that, "The first three players will receive the medals. We hope to have good competition because all teams have been preparing in detail for this event.”
The Championship started two months ago with preliminary round contests organized at Provincial level.
The fifteen teams:
Kigali Kungfu Wushu Kimisagara, Tiger Wushu Kimisagara, Kigali Shaolin Temple, Mantis Club, Dragon Kungfu Wushu, Kist Club, Po Chilam, Kabuga Ging Wushu, Issa Sport Club, Rubavu Shaolin Temple, Musanze Shaolin Temple, Muhanga Tiger Club, Kibuye Kungfu Club, Black Eagles Kibungo and Tsen Club.
