Rayon Sports eye three points against Bugesera

Rayon Sports will go into Tuesday’s tie against Bugesera FC at Muhanga Regional Stadium looking to register back to Azam Rwanda Premier League matches for the first time this season.

Should Sosthene Habimana’s side win today, it will be two wins in a row following a hard fought 1-0 victory over Rwamagana City on Saturday courtesy of Burundian Pierro Kwizera’s strike.

"What we need to have is momentum and a win against Bugesera would be a major boost because they are a strong side but I am convinced we can overcame them,” Habimana told Times Sport on Monday.

However, Bugesera head coach Ali Bizimungu, a former Rayon Sports tactician, said his team will travel to Muhanga looking for victory, "We’re not afraid of any challenge, so we are determined to win.”

Elsewhere, Eric Nshimiyimana’s AS Kigali host Abdul Bizimana’s Amagaju FC at Mumena Stadium hoping to maintain their place at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, title hopefuls Police FC were held to a 1-all draw by Gicumbi FC at Kicukiro stadium. Abbas Cedric Byamungu scored the opener for Emmanuel Ruremesha’s Gicumbi in the 18th minute that was cancelled out by Danny Usengimana’s equalizer in the 33rd minute.

AS Kigali top the table with 15 points, one ahead of defending champions APR FC and two more than SC Kiyovu and Police, who are third and fourth, respectively. Rayon Sports are in 6th with 12 points while Bugesera FC are 14th with six points, two above the relegation zone.
