Striker Jean Lomami scored his fifth goal of the campaign to lead ten-man Atraco to a 2-0 win over hard-fighting Police in a match played yesterday at Camp Kigali ground.

Midfield Joseph Kabagambe gave Sam Timbe’s side a fourth minute lead from a direct corner before Lomami sealed the points with a well-taken strike midway through the second half.

But the ex-Rayon Sport hitman saw red for a second bookable offence, which automatically rules him out of his team’s next two matches with Electrogaz and Kibuye.

In Muhanga, APR were held to a 1-1 draw by Kibuye despite taking a first minute lead through their leading scorer Labama Bokota, who netted his third goal in as many matches.

Emmanuel Kayumba netted Kibuye’s equalizer two minutes later.

Under fire Rayon Sports coach Raoul Shungu breathed a sigh of relief after midfielder Abdul Uwimana scored in the final minute to complete 2-1 comeback against AS-Kigali at Mironko ground.

AS-Kigali led at half time through a Papi Gasana goal but Rwandan U-17 international Jamal Mwiseneza, who replaced Jimmy Gatete, leveled things minutes of his introduction before Amavubi Stars midfielder Uwimana killed off the contest in the last minute.

It was Rayon’s first win of the season after drawing the opening two fixtures against Police and Mukura.

Amagaju remain bottom of the table after losing their third game in row 1-2 in Gikongoro against visiting Marines.

After three rounds of matches, the champions are the only team with a perfect record of nine points, two ahead of their closest rivals and main title challengers APR who remain second despite drawing yesterday.

The nine-time champions are level on seven points with Electrogaz and Marines, who both enjoyed identical 2-1 wins over La Jeunesse and Amagaju yesterday.

After the 3-0 success over Amagaju on the opening weekend, Rene Feller’s side struggled to break down the opposition against AS-Kigali, luckily they won that 1-0 and now it was Kibuye’s turn to frustrate the preseason favourites.

Rayon moved two places up the table to fifth on five points and this should give the much needed confidence going into next weekend’s clash against archrivals APR at Amahoro stadium.
