It’s do or bust for Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho who has only won one in seven games in all competitions as he faces a Liverpool side looking for resurgence under new manager Jurgen Klopp. Mourinho has always suffocated Liverpool and could do it again if he gets his players playing for him. Trouble is Liverpool picked up their first win under Klopp in Capital One Cup and will want a first league win too. I am inclined to give Mourinho a lifeline with a win, but something says Liverpool could  be the hangman at The Bridge. The Special One is now the ‘Worried One.’

SWANSEA  3-2  ARSENAL             5pm

Arsene Wenger is that manager who knows he has a thin squad after lack of activity in the summer but still wants to play the same tired legs in every game. The Gunners are not machines and will start paying the price as fatigue sets in. Could it be at Liberty Stadium in Wales?

PALACE  0-2  MAN UNITED           5pm

Crystal Palace have never won a Premier League game against Manchester United, drawing two and losing 10 (including each of the last four). I see the Red Devils continue to good run even if the ineffective Rooney and Memphis Depay start. The only trouble is that Alan Pardew is good getting one of United every season. This could be it.

SUNDAY

EVERTON  1-2 SUNDERLAND      4.30pm

Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland were utterly rubbish in the Wear-Tyne derby but they still beat Newcastle 3-0, thanks to a controversial stroke of halftime decision. Big Sam is aware the Black Cats are no good and will want them to play more physical to wear down their opponents and stand a chance.
