Rwanda's number three professional golfer Ernest Ndayisenga is not taking anything for granted and has set his sights on putting up a good show at the forthcoming Rwanda Open set for November 11-14 at Kigali Golf Club in Nyarutarama.

The 27-year-old golfer, who finished fifth and third respectively in last two editions, is keen to do a lot better this time round, especially after a disappointing return at the Tusker Malt Lager Uganda Open in July where he didn’t make the cut after two rounds.

Speaking to Times Sport on Wednesday, Ndayisenga said he is optimistic about his chances to win his first Rwanda Open title as a pro golfer.

He said that, "I have had enough preparation for this year’s tournament (Rwanda Open) and I am looking forward to using home advantage to challenge for the title.”

He revealed that he is currently training for three hours every day as he tries to put himself in the best possible position to contend for the title.

"I don’t always panic before or during competitions and I hope this time, I will be able to make up for the previous disappointments,” vowed Ndayisenga.

Last year’s edition was won by Rwanda’s number one Jean Baptiste Hakizimana (professionals) while Emmanuel Rutayisire won in the amateurs’ category.
