RE: "Police, coops sign partnership deal” (The New Times, October 28).

Excellent job done by Rwanda National Police; I guess this is community policing at work, for we all know that without security and peace, you cannot talk about development. That is why institutional partnerships are important in the advancement of fruitful collaboration that focuses on the national vision of peace, unity and economic development.

Under such partnerships, setting up mechanisms to ensure that members abide by the law, as well as monitoring and fighting crimes that may engulf cooperatives and sharing timely and accurate information is the priority. It’s also important since it promotes cohesion, transparency and sharing of best practices.
