RE: "Music education helps to unlock students’ talents - Minister Musafiri” (The New Times, October 26).

Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night opens with the following narration, "If music be the food of love, play on”.

Music has the unique ability to calm one’s nerves and bring solace to the tired and weary.

Students today tend to be overburdened with routine learning processes and as Malimba Musafiri, Minister of Education, very rightly remarked: "Music education will make learning process enjoyable and help teachers to discover students’ talents.”

It is commendable that South Korea’s Booyoung Co. has donated 20,000 non-reflective chalkboards and 2,000 digital pianos at a total value of $2.6 million.

This initiative of music education will bring out the best in Rwandan children and groom them for key positions in the international arena.
