Editor,

This is with reference to the article published by The New Times on October 26, 2015 under the headline "Gov’t creates new company to manage aviation activities”.

While the article explained the ongoing changes within the aviation industry in the country, there were a few things to add.

1. The entity is called Aviation and Logistics Holding Limited. It is important to note that it will be a holding company.

2. The Rwanda Law Reform Commission completed the study of the draft legislation. The draft bill will soon be forwarded to Cabinet for approval and thereof subsequent review by the Parliament.

3. While Kamembe Airport was recently reopened after undergoing repair and expansion works there are no catering facilities on site.

4. And finally, RwandAir Group will be handling passengers, cargo, technical and ground airport handling and the in-flight catering services.
