Rwanda Paralympian Hermas Cliff Muvunyi failed to win a medal in IPC Athletics World Championships after finishing sixth in T46 400m final with a time of 49.79 at Suhaim Bin Hamad stadium in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
Rwanda Paralympian Hermas Cliff Muvunyi failed to win a medal in IPC Athletics World Championships after finishing sixth in T46 400m final with a time of 49.79 at Suhaim Bin Hamad stadium in Doha, Qatar on Friday.
Muvunyi, who won gold in the T46 800m at the last edition in Lyon, France, came behind the winner, American Hart Jaquvis, who clocked 48.17. In second position was Jamaican Hudson Shane (48.48) while Kotlov Alexey from Russia, took bronze in 48.92.
In the semi-finals, Muvunyi finished in second position after clocking 50:47 behind Jaquvis, who clocked 50.12, while another Rwandan; Jean Claude Ndayisenga came in sixth position in 400 meters after clocking 53 seconds and hence failed to qualify for the final.
And it was more disappointment for the All Africa Games reigning T46 400m champion after he failed to qualify for the final in the T46 1500 meters, coming in fourth position with four minutes and 7 seconds.
