Kigali Angels face Charity in Women's T20 opener

The 3rd edition of the UAE Exchange & Xpress Money Women’s T20 tournament starts today with defending champions Kigali Angels CC taking on Charity CC at Kicukiro cricket ground.

The 3rd edition of the UAE Exchange & Xpress Money Women’s T20 tournament starts today with defending champions Kigali Angels CC taking on Charity CC at Kicukiro cricket ground.

Kigali Angels won the second edition after winning all their preliminary round matches before defeating Queens of Victory in the final. Sarah Uwera, the Kigali Angel’s captain said winning the first game is crucial to lifts the players’ morale.

She added that after signing new players (Jean dar’c Akingeneye and Liliane Umuhoza) from Queens of Victory, her team is more balanced.

On the other hand, Charity CC are no walk-over, especially with four national team players namely; Diane Bimenyimana, Cathia Uwamahoro, Margaret Vumulia and Claudin Uwase as well as two U19 players; Grace Byukusenge and Alice Nsingizwe, in their ranks.

"We equally have a good team and expect a tough game against Kigali Angels,” said Charity CC captain Uwase.

Meanwhile, Indorwa CC will play against Telugu Royals CC at the same venue in the second match of the Men’s UAE Exchange & Xpress Money Premier 50-over League on Sunday.
