Rwanda Football Association (FERWAFA) president Vincent Nzamwita has confirmed that they are in talks with Kim Poulsen to become the next national technical director.
Poulsen has previously worked as Tanzania national team head coach and has vast experience in football development.
"I can say the talks with Kim Poulsen are in advanced stages and if all goes well, he will probably sign at the end of this month and start work in November. So far we have agreed on certain things,” Nzamwita told Times Sport on Tuesday.
If he signs, Poulsen will be assisted by former Amavubi striker Jimmy Mulisa, and their major task will be to identify young talented players all over the country.
According to Nzamwita, Poulsen was chosen ahead of other two candidates; Michael Wise and Burundian Dominique Niyonzima to replace Englishman, Lee Johnson, who resigned in April.
Poulsen is currently in charge of Silkeborg IF which plays in the Danish Superliga, the highest football league in Denmark. He most notably guided Viborg FF to the 2000 Danish Cup. Poulsen only played amateur football as an active player.
