The second edition of the Karisimbi Entertainment Awards, organised by Karisimbi Events, is just around the corner and Rwandans have been given the opportunity to vote for their favourite celebrities who have excelled in local showbiz this year.
The annual awards ceremony aims to recognise top players in various sectors of Rwanda's entertainment industry, from cinema to music and fashion.
According to Emmanuel Mugisha, the brains behind the event, this year's Karisimbi Ent Awards has been organised in such a way that all players in Rwandan showbiz can participate and be recognised in over 20 categories.

"We have added hospitality categories because they play a big role in the success of entertainment events. Also, we continue to create a platform for our award winners that will motivate them and also inspire the rest to also strive for perfection and excellence in the entertainment industry." Mugisha remarked.
Voting began on 30 November and will continue until December 8, on Watch.rw. 60 per cent of the votes will come from online voters while 40 per cent will come from the judges.

The likes of Bwiza, Ariel Wayz, Vestine & Dorcas, Alyn Sano and Marina are competing in the Best Female Artist category while Chriss Eazy, Juno Kizigenza, Danny Nanone, Kenny Sol, Bruce Melodie and Christopher are nominated in the Best Male Artist category.
The awards ceremony will be held at Onomo Hotel Kigali on December 16.
