It is very encouraging to read from your lead story that Séraphine Mukantabana, Minister for Disaster Management and Refugee Affairs, has announced various measures to mitigate the suffering and consequences of any disaster.
Her plan to integrate local and indigenous knowledge with science and technology in an effort to increase disaster resilience will provide the perfect blend of traditional and modern methods in disaster management.
Midimar’s initiative in having a disaster risk awareness week from October 27 to November 2, thereby boosting knowledge, will go a long way in building a disaster resilient Rwanda.
