APR and Amavubi Stars midfielder Djamar Mwiseneza is set to travel to Morocco this month to undergo a knee surgery, according to the Rwanda Football Association president, Vincent Nzamwita.

The 26-year-old, Mwiseneza suffered a damaged knee ligament during a national league game against his former club Rayon Sports on February 22. The match ended 4-0 in favour of the army side.

Mwisezeza will be operated on by Moroccan specialists thanks to a partnership between FERWAFA and their Moroccan counterparts.

"Djamar (Mwiseneza) will travel to Morocco for surgery on his injured knee. Much as he picked up the injury while playing for his club, we (FERWAFA) only intervened because we have a partnership with Morocco to deal such issues (severe injuries),” Nzamwita said on Wednesday.

FERWAFA signed an agreement with the Morocco FA at the start of this year regarding treatment of Rwandan players with severe injuries as well as the national teams holding training camps in Morocco.

Mwiseneza has received 25 caps in the national team since making his debut in 2008.
