The National Volleyball women’s team will return to regional and continental tournaments after four years, according to Rwanda Volleyball Federation (FRVB) president Gustave Nkurunziza.
The last time the national women’s volleyball team competed in the Africa Nations Championships was back in 2011 in which the national side failed to win in all nine games that they played.
In an interview with Times Sport, Nkurunziza said that they are going to hold a special training camp for the national women’s team in November as part of preparations for next year’s African Women Volleyball Championships.
"Our women’s team has not taken part in elite competitions for a long time so that is why we have decided to have thorough preparations ahead of the African Nations Championships next year,” Nkurunziza said.
The team will be under the guidance of the National Men’s Volleyball team coach, Paul Bitok as the federation searches for a Head coach and two assistants.
