It's not too late to succeed

It is demoralizing and difficult to do a subject combination which you don’t enjoy. However, all courses at universities are academically rigorous and their conditional offers are made on the basis of final ‘A’ level grades.

It is important that the subjects you study at A’level provide you with the preparation required for your chosen degree course. In many cases, the university offers require applicants to achieve a certain grade in a relevant subject with regard to their academic merits and potential in ‘A’ level. If you had clear ideas about what you wanted to study at university, you would have checked whether your plans required a specific subject combination and probably given it more time.

It’s a bit late for you to begin contemplating on changing the course at university given your upper secondary subject combination. If you do not consider repeating a class, then you’re faced with a choice of having to change your attitude about the combination you’re taking. You need to re-orient your ambitions to succeed, excel and outperform yourself. A person without an ambition is like a ship without a compass, you will go somewhere but not to the place you wanted to be. Visualizing success will help you become more confident of yourself and will get you closer to more success, it’s a proven technique. All those things that lead to prosperity might not necessarily be enjoyable. Often work closely with your teachers to constantly keep guiding you through such tough academic tasks. That way you will keep moving forward.

Right now, it is too late to change combination. The only option you have is to put in more time and effort in your studies in order to pass. You can pursue your passion later.

Although you’re studying what you are not passionate about, always remember that the only way to university is good grades. Therefore there’s no two-way about it. You must accept your situation and move on.
