It’s a Super Sunday weekend with fierce rivalries on the cards. English Premier League leaders Manchester United travel to North London to face insipid Arsenal, Liverpool take the short trip within Merseyside for the derby with Everton, while in Germany, high-flying Bayern Munich travel to Dortmund in a derby of emotions as Real Madrid will try to arrest the recent bad results against cross-city rivals Atletico.

SATURDAY
Man City 3-0 N’castle 4pm
Did Manchester City fix the rot? Probably. Can Newcastle frustrate their hosts? City are not Chelsea. The Magpies had a great result to savour last week in holding Chelsea to a 2-2 draw but at Etihad, the story will be different with City trying to end a run of two straight defeats. Vincent Kompany remains a doubt but Joe Hart will return between the sticks to ensure that the soft goals conceded against Spurs do not happen.
CHELSEA 1-3 SAINTS 6pm
The current Chelsea doesn’t scare any opponent. Southampton Saints are aware of this and will throw the sinks at Mourinho’s lads. Diego Costa serves his last match out. Ideally, this would be a straight win, but Chelsea are in a situation where they must win this game. This will put more pressure on them and play in Southampton’s hands.
SUNDAY
Everton 2-1 Liverpool 2.30pm
The recent Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park have had elements of Liverpool struggling for a draw. Whether under pressure Rodgers can change that fortune remains to be seen, but the Toffees are brimming with a lot of confidence at the moment. Liverpool might have Daniel Sturridge back scoring again, but they remain without Henderson and Benteke. Looks more like the Toffees can hold out this time
SWANSEA 2-0 SPURS 5pm
Tottenham Hotspur are on a run of three straight wins, including last week’s 4-1 beating of Manchester City, but those good results have been helped by the form of forward Son Heung-min. With the Korean out injured, the visit to Wales could turn out for the worse for Spurs. Swansea badly need a win after losing their mojo since the injury to Jefferson Montero. The winger might be back, but he is off colour. Still, Gary Monk looks certain to have a go at Spurs.
Arsenal 3-1 Man United 5pm
Arsenal Wenger’s obstinacy is rubbing Gunners the wrong way, but did the Frenchman learn anything from dropping Petr Cech in midweek? He did. Still, Arsenal are without Laurent Koscielny while Per Matesacker is struggling for form, but they can have reassurance that with Alexis Sanchez back on form, scoring against visiting Manchester United could be much easier today. Louis van Gaal’s United fought tooth and nail to beat Wolfsburg at home in midweek and will pray that Martial and Mata can tick again considering the current situation skipper Wayne Rooney is in.
DORTMUND 0-2 BAYERN 4pm
You have to pity Borussia Dortmund who have to face their former darling at a time like this. Robert Lewandowski is simply unstoppable at the moment. With 10 goals in three games, he will be the man to watch not just for his status as traitor in the eyes of the submarine fans.
Atletico 2-2 REAL 8pm
Atletico Madrid have not yet stepped on the gear. They even lost at home to Benfica in Champions League on Tuesday and will be hosting bitter rivals Real for Rafa Benitez’s first derby game. Can Benitez stop the recent good fortunes Atleti have enjoyed over Real? My doubts are strong.
