After winningtwo of three playoffs matches, Rayon Sports VC coach Fidele Nyirimana believes his team will lift the league title at the weekend when all teams play the final matches at Amahoro indoor stadium court.

Seeking to win their first league title on only the second attempt, Rayon Sports beat APR and Kirehe 3-1 but lost to second-placed INATEK 3-0 on the penultimate weekend in Ngoma district on Sunday.

"We will do all we can to win the next three matches as we want to win the league title but it will be difficult because INATEK also want to win it, and are only two points behind us,” Nyirimana said.

Rayon Sports with 58 points, have led the league table for most of the season but INATEK’s three wins have helped them to close into two points difference going into the final weekend.

Their coach Dominic Sesonga Ntawangundi said, "We were determined to win our matches and I am thankful to my players for a job well done, but we still have three big matches on the last weekend which will determine who wins the title.”

Without any hope of retaining the league title, defending champions APR are in third position with 38 points while Kirehe is fourth, 10 points further adrift. The league champions will represent Rwanda in next year’s Africa Club Championships.
