Rwanda volleyball senior national team player Fred Musoni is set for professional trials with Finland first division side Liiga Riento.
The 23-year-old Musoni, who plays in the middle (center player) travelled to Finland on Thursday night.
He was part of the U-21 team that participated in U-21 World Championships in Ankara, Turkey, last September; and he has also been a regular for Paul Bitok’s senior national team which finished fourth at the just concluded All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville.
The youthful player joined Rayon Sports last year in September from rivals APR VC, and his departure will be a big blow to Fidele Nyirimana’s Rayon Sports, who are competing for the league title.
Musoni started his career in Kagarama High school before joining APR in 2010, and signed for newly formed Rayon Sports on a two-year contract.
