Dufatanye Association, one of the Rwandan exhibitors that participated in the Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) Trade Fair last week says it reaped big from the Kampala exhibition.

Dufatanye is an association that manufactures medicine using natural herbs like Aloe Vera and the Moringa.

Dufatanye’s officials says they treat a number of health complications including skin diseases, diabetes, syphilis, blood pressure, cardiac asthma and addictions to smoking and alcohol among others.

Sibomana Bosco, the company’s director, said they capitalized on selling and marketing their products and also making business contacts. 

"It is the first time we are selling our products outside Rwanda and the response was encouraging,” he said.

"Most people liked our products and encouraged us to open up a branch in Kampala and Kenya. We are already looking for space around town (Kampala) to start selling our products,” Sibomana added.

He added that prices of the products were reduced during the trade fair in order to boost sales during. 

Among the foreign exhibitors from the region, Kenyan traders mostly selling hand crafts and traditional African clothes dominated the one week, Ugandan trade fair that ended on Monday October 13.

"I can’t explain why Rwandan business people didn’t come but for me I don’t regret participating in the event. I managed to get contacts of people who would like to pattern with us in our business,” he said.

He added that, "We also discovered that we have unique products which our counter parts in Uganda do not have.” he added.
