Former APR right-winger Charles Tibingana is on the blink of joining Malawi’s most successful and supported Club, Big Bullets FC on an initial one-year contract, the player has confirmed to Times Sport. 

The Uganda-born Rwandan international, who has been training with the Malawi TNM Super League reigning champions for the past two weeks, revealed that he has reached a verbal agreement with the club and is set to sign the contract before the end of this week.

"It is nice for me and my career because this is a big club and I look forward to work hard and maintain a regular spot in the squad,” the 21-year-old Tibingana said on Tuesday by phone from Blantyre, Malawi’s second largest city.

The former Rwanda U-17 and U-20 star noted that he is determined to improve, explaining that joining Big Bullets FC has come as a "stepping stone” towards achieving his bigger dream.

"In my plan, Big Bullets is just a way through I want to work hard and if all goes well, I want to play in Europe at some stage in my career,” added Tibingana.

Former Sports Club Victory University player, who was part of the Rwanda U-17 team that qualified and played in the 2011 FIFA World Cup in Mexico, before he joined APR, has not played competitive football for almost a year after being deprived of his Rwandan nationality by the Rwanda football governing body, FERWAFA.

Tibingana’s move to Malawi, comes three weeks after Azam Rwanda Premier League side, AS Kigali had confirmed him as their player, according to the head coach Eric Nshimiyimana.

Reigning champions Big Bullets FC currently tops the Malawi Super League with 32 points while Wonders FC is in the second position with 27 points.
