The Uganda-born striker Otema was signed for a reported fee of Rwf3.5 million from which he paid Rwf1.5 million to buy out the remaining one year on his Rayon Spots contract.
Speaking to Times Sport on Thursday, Otema said he is excited about the transfer and looking forward to enjoying his football for Baraka Hussein’s Musanze-based side.
"I am excited for the new challenge, Musanze are a big club with a vision and I hope we will be able achieve a lot together,” former Kibuye, Atraco and Police FC striker told this paper in a telephone interview, yesterday.
When asked about the decision to leave the 7-time champions for lowly-ranked Musanze, he explained (without disclosing details) that, "I had some issues with club management and I thought moving away was the wise choice for the best of my career.”
Since January this year, the Nyanza-based Rayon Sports have lost all but one (goalie Jean Luc Ndayishimiye) of their senior players for bigger offers elsewhere such as Police FC, APR and Kenyan sides SOFAPAKA and Gor Mahia.
