SC Kiyovu have completed the signing of two players, including central defender Amani Uwiringiyimana from Police FC, and midfielder Jean d’Amour Uwimana from Rayon Sports on one-year contracts.

Kiyovu head coach Innocent Seninga confirmed the development to Times Sport.

"We have signed Amani and Jean d’Amour who are very good players from good teams and have a lot of experience,” he said.

Uwiringiyimana is currently training with the national side that is preparing for the international friendly against Gabon on September 12.

"Amani is on the national team which is good for us to have two players in the Amavubi as we already have Omborenga (Fitina). We have young players on the team so to have experienced players will be very good for us since they will pass their experience on to them,” explained Seninga.

Kiyovu are in the process of completing the signing of goalkeeper Bonheur Hategekimana who moved to Rayon Sports less than a month ago from Isonga.

Seninga, who was head coach of Isonga last season, and coached Hategekimana, was full of praises for the teenage custodian who made his mark in the topflight league last season notably during the Peace Cup.

Hategekimana inspired the relegated Isonga to the semifinals of the Peace Cup having saved two penalties against Espoir in the round of 16 before displaying yet another spectacular performance against league first runners-up AS Kigali in the quarterfinals when he saved two penalties to eliminate Eric Nshimiyimana’s side.

"Bonheur is a good goalkeeper and very talented. He finished last season on form and took Isonga to the semifinals but also in the second round, we secured so many points because of his performance so I would like to work with him at Kiyovu because he will be the difference for us as well,” mentioned Seninga.

Kiyovu have also signed striker Jean Pierre Muhindo from Amagaju, who will partner veteran Andre Lomami upfront. Yamini Salum and Idris Niyitegeka are the other new faces at the Mumena-based side.
