Dear counsellor, kindly give me tips on how to make revision productive. I normally read in the morning and evening but still fail my exams.

The reality is, failure can be made to feel like the worst thing that could ever happen to a person but the best thing to do is strive to overcome it and focus on more promising endeavours – at least in the long run. Even where failure cannot be salvaged, there is always something to learn from it. You are good enough; all you need to do is to keep trying. Don’t lose your composure over it.

Get yourself into exam mode. Practice on sample tests in the textbook or study guide. This can be done through making a study schedule which will always guide your reading and stick to it at all times. Look at past exams. Ask for suggestions from your teacher about what subject materials you need and how much time to allocate to your studies. Also endeavour to read from the beginning of the term up to the end, but revise even harder when the exam timetable is out. Avoid cramming because it can be counter-productive. You should also always pay attention in class, do all class assignments and join discussion groups. If you implement these ideas, your performance in class will definitely improve.
