MTN Rwanda has cemented its position in the market, hitting the over four million subscriber base last week, writes Times Reporter.
According to Rwanda Utilities and Regulatory Agency (RURA) July 2015 report, Rwanda’s mobile penetration rate was at 72.6 per cent, with over 8.1 million subscribers.
Commenting on the achievement, MTN Rwanda chief, Gunter Engling, said the milestone has "maintained and strengthened the firm’s position in the market in terms of market share and value share”.
Engling thanked MTN subscribers for their loyalty to the network over the years, as well as the dedication of staff in making this goal a reality.
"We have made good progress on delivering on our strategy as we continue to explore opportunities to expand our product offering into the digital space,” he said.
"We are also grateful to the government, the regulator, as well as our technology partners for their support,” he said.
