This was revealed yesterday by the Rector, of KIST, Prof. Abraham Atta, during a one-day workshop on KTP at the campus.
"Most of the world universities work hand in hand with industries through availing knowledge and transferring it to the society leading to industrial development,” said Ogwu.
"The knowledge transfer programme will help strengthen the university like its counterparts in developed countries,” the Rector said.
The one-day workshop attracted people from both the private and public sector, highlighted essential characteristics for successful partnerships between academics and business leaders.
"This programme will be vital in helping businesses to improve their competitiveness and productivity through the better use of knowledge, technology and skills that reside within the country,” State Minister of Infrastructure Albert Butare told participants.
The British Council is implementing a new Africa Knowledge Transfer Partnership (AKTP) programme in other countries like Kenya, Uganda, Ghana and Nigeria.
