Rwanda senior volleyball national team will be seeking for their first win when they take on Ghana in the ongoing All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville. Paul Bitok’s team lost their opening match against Algeria 3-2 on Thursday.

Rwanda started well by winning the opening set 29-27, before Algeria secured the second set 25-16, and Bitok team took the third set 25-18. Algeria won the fourth set 27-25 as well as the decider 15-10 in a match that lasted 128 minutes.

In same group B, defending champions Cameroon cruised past emerging Ghana 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-18) on Wednesday.

"I appreciate the performance of my team even if we lost, but we can take the positives from the loss going into the next games. The players gave their best but it wasn’t enough against a very good Algeria team," Bitok said. Algeria won silver four years ago in Maputo, Mozambique.
