He noted that the initiative is part of the association’s corporate social responsibility to give back to society.
"Our target is 150 cows, which will be distributed to beneficiary families through the Rwanda Agricultural Board.
Girinka is a national project established in 2006 with the aim of reducing child malnutrition, and increasing incomes of poor households in the country.
According to Dr Pascal Nyabinwa, the project co-ordinator, more than 203,000 families have so far benefited from the programme. Government is targeting to cover about 350,000 households before the initiative winds up in 2017.
