The annual Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show is back. This year’s event is a must attend for fashion lovers looking to stock their wardrobes with the latest trendy outfits. The show will feature the finest creations from local and international fashion designers.
The annual Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show is back. This year’s event is a must attend for fashion lovers looking to stock their wardrobes with the latest trendy outfits. The show will feature the finest creations from local and international fashion designers.
The one-day fashion show will be held at Des Millie Collin Hotel, Kigali on September 26 and will attract 10 international designers and several locals fashion designers.
According to the organiser Celestine Ntawirema, international designers from Kenya, Ghana and South Africa will grace the event. Local designers who will participate are Uzuri, Christine’s Creative Collections Ltd- (CCC), Rupari Design, D-Green Fashion House, Isano Design, Zahabu Fashion Design, Agasozi Art Centre.
"The interaction of local and international fashion experts will create new and better fashion ideas,” Ntawirema explains. "It is also an avenue to provide networking opportunities for designers and models,” he adds.
The fashion show is organised by Iris Pro Films 1000 Hills in partnership with local stakeholders in fashion industry.
This year’s event will also feature unique designs from a variety of cultures including Amasunzu style - the Rwandan clothing preferred since the 1950s - Umukenyero and Inshabure, East African clothing and collections from Europe, USA and Asia.
The show will also feature art exhibitions, live painting as well as an expo of designers’ products.
This, Ntawirema says, is not only aimed at creating business opportunities but also exporting Rwandan fashion and culture. The Rwanda Cultural Fashion Show started three years ago and has grown into one of the leading fashion events in the country.
