Rayon Sports have signed Bodo Ndikumana on a free transfer after the 34-year-old forward was released by AS Kigali.

Rayon Sports have signed Bodo Ndikumana on a free transfer after the 34-year-old forward was released by AS Kigali.

News of Ndikumana’s signing was confirmed on Friday by Rayon Sports new spokesperson and secretary general, Olivier Gakwaya.

Ndikumana signed a two-year deal. "It’s important to strengthen our team in preparation for the next season. We have signed an experienced player and we believe he will help us in the new season,” he told Sunday Sport.

The 34-year-old has been out for 17 months after suffering a near fatal motorcycle accident on March 15, 2014.

Gakwaya added that the 2013 league champions are keen to win at least one trophy in the 2015/16 season, which is scheduled to start on September 18.

Rayon Sports’ other new signings include; former SC Kiyovu captain Djuma Radju Niyonkuru, defender Thierry Manzi from Marine FC, forwards Kevin Muhire and Savio Nshuti from Isonga FC and Cedric Mugenzi from Gicumbi FC.

Others are Right-back Alexis Ndacyayisenga and left-back Jean d’Amour Nzayisenga as well as upcoming goalkeeper Bonheur Hategekimana from relegated Isonga FC.

The Nyanza-based club have also lost several senior players including; Fuadi Ndayisenge and Aphrodis Hategekimana, who joined Kenyan side Sofapaka, Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana to Gor Mahia.

Other players that have departed are; Robert Ndatimana and Isaac Muganza, who signed for Police FC; Faustin Usengimana and Djihad Bizimana (APR) as well as young striker Frank Lomami, who signed for Musanze FC.
