RWANDA’S U-20 national football team is yet to prove that it has the strength to use home advantage to win next year’s African Youth Championships set for January 18-February 1 in Kigali.

The youthful national squad managed by Croatian coach Tomislav Obradovic has enjoyed a string of wins against a number of national league clubs as part of its build up to next year’s tournament.

The team’s most notable performance was the 3-1 victory against Kiyovu. Their next build up game is against nine-time league champions APR, this Wednesday.

According to the local football governing body, Ferwafa, there are no plans of lining up international build-up games for the youngsters this month.

Ferwafa boss, Brig. Gen. Jean Bosco Kazura recently said that they are planning to line up some build up games for the team although he was  hesitant to give the exact dates and the possible opponents.
