The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Somalia referees to handle the AFCON 2017 qualifier between Rwanda and Ghana set for September 5 in Kigali.

The quartet will be led by centre referee Hagi Yabarow Wiish, who will be assisted by Hamza Abdi and Bashir Abdi Suleiman as first and second assistant referees, respectively, while Hassan Mohammed Hagi will be the fourth official.

Inyangi Bokinda, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, will be the match commissioner.

Johnny McKinstry’s team entered residential training camp at La Palisse Hotel on Monday to prepare for the Black Stars clash, the first between the two teams since 2003 during the qualifiers for AFCON 2004, a tie which Rwanda famously won 1-0 courtesy of Jimmy Gatete’s header.

In the meantime, Amavubi will first play an international friendly match against Ethiopia on Friday at Amahoro national stadium. The game will be handled by Ugandan referee Dennis Batte (centre), assisted by Samuel Kayondo and Mark Sonko.

Rwanda’s Hudu Munyemana will be the fourth official and Burundian Jean Marie Vianney Hicuburundi the match commissioner.
