Mumena-based Kiyovu finished on 9th position last season with 32 points in 26 games — which represented their worst campaign in league football in two decades.
Speaking to Saturday Sport yesterday, Seninga acknowledged that a lot of work awaits him but revealed that he has held talks with the board and assured full support to overhaul the team in the transfer market before the 2015/16 seasons gets underway on September 18.
The former Isonga FC coach said that, "Kiyovu is a big club in the country and I want to do my best to bring back the glory days to this club. It’s a big challenge but I have been assured of full support by the board so I hope I will be able to assemble a competitive team.”
Seninga noted that to achieve his goal, he hope that his bosses back him by signing new players, who can make a different in terms of quality rather than quantity.
Recently the club Secretary General Elie Manirarora revealed that the Green Baggies have a budget of Rwf147m of which Rwf36m will be spent on new recruitments.
The club have already signed former Amavubi Stars striker Andre Lomami from Espoir FC and midfielder Jean Paul Havugimana from Rayon Sports.
Seninga has expressed his excitement to reunite with his former schoolmate Lomami, saying that, "I am glad to work with him again because he is a very good player, I know him well since we were in school and played together at St. Joseph Kabgayi.”
Lomami signed a two-year contract with the club despite being linked for a long time with newly promoted Bugesera FC, who dropped their interest after failing to agree personal terms with the former APR and Atraco FC forward.
In a separate interview, Lomami said that, "It’s a motivation to work with him (Seninga) again because he knows me well and we have been friends for a long time but also am glad to be at Kiyovu because my family lives in Kigali and now I can stay with them.”
