The playoffs were temporality halted at the end of June to allow the national men’s team to prepare to compete in the just-concluded Africa Men Championships in Cairo eventually won by hosts Egypt. Rwanda finished sixth.
Rayon Sports lead the league table standing with 44 points and will be hoping to win their remaining matches against APR, INATEK and Kirehe when the playoffs return next weekend in Ngoma District.
Head coach Fidele Nyirimana said, "We need to win all our games, we don’t want to give away points which can cost us the title.”
INATEK, fresh from winning the 2015 KAVC Memorial tournament in Kampala, are second in the league with 41 points, defending champions APR follow with 33 points, while Kirehe have 25 points in fourth place.
Meanwhile, national team players who are in camp preparing for next month’s All Africa Games, which will be held in Congo Brazzaville, will be allowed to return to their clubs next Thursday, according to head coach Paul Bitok.
