SC Kiyovu have sacked newly appointed Nigerian coach, Samuel Amamba, just three days after his appointment to the job for failing to produce valid documents.
Speaking to Sunday Sport yesterday, Kiyovu’s Secretary General, Elie Manirarora, revealed that the Club had terminated Amamba’s contract after he failed to submit the original copy of the CAF B coaching license which he claimed to have obtained from his home country.
"He gave us a photocopy of his documents and we asked him to bring the original copies but he failed which proved he might have forged the papers so we terminated the contract,” Manirarora confirmed.
The Mumena-based club announced on Wednesday that they appointed Amamba as the team’s head coach on a one-year contract until the end of the season which is scheduled to get underway on September 18.
Manirarora noted that the club was in no hurry to replace Amamba heading into the Agaciro pre-season tournament without a head coach, although he revealed they are in talks with four other candidates but without giving too much away in terms of their identities.
However, Sunday Sport understands that Gicumbi FC head coach, Emmanuel Ruremesha, is the favourite to take the Green Baggies’ job.
