Former Amavubi Stars striker André Lomami is in advanced talks with National Football League newcomers Bugesera FC for a possible move.
The news of Lomami’s transfer to the Eastern Province-based side was confirmed on Friday by the newly appointed Bugesera head coach, Ali Bizimungu. The former Atraco FC and APR forward was released by Espoir at the end of last season.
"If all goes well, he will be joining us in the next few days, the club has shown interest in him and talks are going well. He is a striker with vast experience and our younger players can learn a lot from him,” former AS Muhanga coach Bizimungu told Saturday Sport.
He also disclosed that over ten players are undergoing trials and next week, the club will have decided who to keep and who to free, noting that he is targeting seven new signings before the 2015/2016 campaign gets underway next month.
The 2013 Peace Cup semi-finalists Bugesera, who earned promotion to national league as second division champions, are keen to make a good start in the top flight division as they look to emulate Sunrise FC, who finished fourth in their debut season.
