Ngomirakiza will wear number 20.

After completing his move from APR in a two year-deal last month, new signing Hegman Ngomirakiza is aiming to win a title with Police FC. The Rwanda international midfielder says that he is hungry to win trophies with his new club Police that won the Peace Cup last season but have never won the league.

"I am absolutely delighted to join Police FC, and I am hungry to start the season and I will give my best to win more trophies here as I did at APR,” Ngamirakiza told Times Sport in an exclusive interview on Saturday.

He added "We are capable of winning the title but it will require us to be in good shape of mind and exhibit much determination against the top teams in this division.”

After nearly ten years at APR playing and winning multiple trophies with the army side, the attacking midfielder, once hailed as the future of Amavubi, believes he has joined an equally big team.

"This is a big team which is capable of winning trophies every season, and I have joined them to be part of that success.  I already feel at home here, and can’ wait for the season to start,”

Ngomirakiza is one of 14 new players the Peace Cup winners have signed in close season—another one being midfielder Robert Ndatimana, who transferred from Rayon Sports.

Ndatimana says he joined Police because he believes the team has good plan and strategies to become successful, "As soon as Police approached me and I heard their plans, I immediately wanted to come here. I am glad to be here.”

Police started the pre-season training early last week ahead of the 2015/2016 season which is scheduled to start on September 18.

André Cassa Mbungo’s team finished in third position in National Football League and also won the Peace Cup for the first time in their history after edging Rayon Sport 1-0 in the final. The Kicukiro-based will represent Rwanda in next year CAF Confederation Cup.
