Newly promoted Bugesera FC has appointed former S.C Kiyovu Sport Coach Ally Bizimungu as the head coach for their forthcoming 2015/2016 campaign in the national football league.
Talking to the Times Sport, Bugesera FC secretary general, Jean Claude Gahigi, confirmed the news revealing that both parties have agreed a one-year contract with effect from August 1 subject to extension depending on the team’s performance.
"He is one of the experienced Coaches in the first division football and has also coached strong clubs which actually makes him competent for the position,” said Gahigi.
Gahigi further said that the club’s target for the new season as agreed with the incoming coach is to finish in top eight positions of the league table.
Meanwhile, in another interview, Coach Bizimungu disclosed that he is keen to take the club forward.
"I’m delighted to work with the club because they have shown that they are eager to build a winning team which is more important,” said Bizimungu.
Among issues the coach plans to tackle include availing camp facilities so that all players stay at the club premises, paying players’ salaries at least before 5th of every month among others.
Bizimungu has coached different clubs in Rwanda including Kiyovu Sport, Rayon Sport, AS Muhanga and Mukura Victory Sport.
Bugesera FC was promoted as the second division champions after a comfortable 2-0 win over Rwamagana FC in the finals. Both clubs were promoted to first division joining fellow eastern based Sunrise FC making a total of three clubs for the first time in Rwanda National League history.
