With thousands of people expected to come to Rwanda for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) from January 16-February 7, the country will witness a transport strain.
While teams will have buses for the players, coaching staff and entourage escorted by Police lead cars, fans from across Africa will have to use the same transport means as the locals.
This will mean long lines at bus stops and parks as well as traffic jam on routes to suburbs where fans will be residing.
Kigali city will host two groups at Amahoro Stadium and the Kigali regional stadium and the influx of people in the city will be of great concern but a greater consumer community for the business people.
Residents of Kigali should mentally prepare for evenings of mild exercises like walking home from work or spending the evening at a nearby gym as the traffic comes down.
However, this might not be the case in the other towns like Huye and Rubavu where the other group matches will be played for their vice will be the overwhelming crowds of people.
Talk about hundreds of people walking the streets of these towns in search of food before or after the games, it will be quite a sight for Rwandans.
