Tunisia overwhelmed Rwanda men’s volleyball team 3-0 (25-19, 25-11, 25-12) in Pool B at the ongoing Men’s African Nations Volleyball Championship at Cairo Stadium Complex in Egypt yesterday.

Paul Bitok’s side will have to do their best against Cameroon who beat Tunisia 3-2 in their first game although Cameroon went on to lose to Morocco 3-1 in their second game.

Morocco lead the pool with six points followed by Cameroon who have five points and Tunisia have four points having lost one and won one game. Rwanda has three points while Mauritius is winless after three games.

Hosts Egypt and Algeria became the first two teams to secure semi-final tickets after both teams registered two consecutive straight sets victories over Botswana and Algeria respectively on day three of the competition.

The event is a qualifier for the 2015 FIVB Men’s World Cup that will take place from September 8-23 in Japan September. The top two teams at the African Volleyball Championship will secure tickets to the prestigious event.

Egypt lead Pool A with a better point quotient than Algeria, both have won two games and have six points followed by Kenya (three points) and Botswana with zero. Kenya beat Botswana 3-0 to finish in third position while Botswana finished last in Pool A.
