Rayon Sports FC has signed Cedric Mugenzi from Gicumbi FC for an undisclosed fee, the Nyanza based club confirmed.
The 21-year old versatile player has signed a two-year contract with the club after two years in the National Football League with Gicumbi FC.
In an interview with Times Sport, Rayon Sports spokesman, Aime Emmanuel Niyomusabye said that they have reached a mutual agreement with the player and he has signed a contract of two years but withheld the terms of the player’s contract.
"Yes, we have just agreed with Cedric and everything has been sorted, we can confirm he is our player for the next two years,” said Niyomusabye.
In another interview, Rayon Sport head coach Jean Baptiste Kayiranga revealed that he is impressed with signing this youngster because he is capable of playing three different positions which is an added advantage to any player.
"He is a good versatile player. We can use him as a right back and also as a right or left winger which is helpful,” said Kayiranga.
Kayiranga signed Mugenzi two years ago when he was in charge of Gicumbi FC and the duo have teamed up again at Rayon Sports this year.
Rayon Sports has already lost a number of players this transfer window but have started rebuilding and have already renewed the contracts of three players including Leo Uwambajimana, team captain Jean Luc Ndayishimiye ‘Bakame’ and Moses Kanamugire.
Besides the club has also signed four new players including Thierry Manzi from Marine FC, Kevin Muhire and Savio Nshuti from Isonga FC and Mugenzi.
According to Kayiranga, more new arrivals are expected and the team is expected to start training for the new season on July 27.
