RE: "Police pledge to support sports development” (The New Times, July 20).

Rwanda enjoys peace and security.

We, citizens of this country thank the Police for accomplishing their tasks according to their mandate of letting us feel safe and reassured.

Sport is a key element of sustaining peace among the people and I think promoting social welfare is a must for any state institution. For instance, Police have handball and soccer teams; this is a sign they are walking the talk.
