Rwanda international Nelson Murangwa has signed a two- year deal with Denmark first division side Middelfart Volleyball Club, Times Sport has learnt.
Rwanda international Nelson Murangwa has signed a two- year deal with Denmark first division side Middelfart Volleyball Club, Times Sport has learnt.
Murangwa said that he will join his new club in September, "I will join my new team in September, I will try to give my best performance. My dream is to play professional volleyball.”
Last year, the 21-year-old underwent a six-month trial period with Japanese Volleyball league side Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler but didn’t sign for then after failing to agree on terms of contract.
Murangwa has been a regular for the U-21 national team and participated in U-21 World Championships in Ankara, Turkey in 2013. He earned his first senior national team cap last year.
The right-attacker joined Rayon Sports Volleyball Club a year ago from Group Scolaire de Butare.
Meanwhile, Rwanda national team captain Christophe Mukunzi has extended his contract with Turkish second division side Payas Belediye Spor Voleybol by one year.
Mukunzi started his playing career with Kigali Volleyball Club (KVC) in 2007 and four years later he joined the professional ranks with Libyan side Tarsana Club before signing for Blida Club in Algeria, and after one season, he joined Qatari side Al Arabi Sports Club.
In 2013-2014, he went back to Algerian side El Fanar Ain-Azel Club before joining the Turkey side Payas Belediye Sports Club last season.
