Former Rwanda international Jimmy Mulisa has been appointed as Amavubi Stars assistant coach together with Emmanuel Ruremesha.

The two will work under head coach Jonny McKinstry.

Mulisa, who was a member of the Rwanda squad that participated in the 2004 Africa Cup of Nations in Tunisia, ended his professional football career last year with T-Team FC of Malaysia where he made 15 appearances and scored eight goals.

Before his new appointment, Mulisa, 31, has been working as the Technical Director at National Football league side, Sunrise FC. He started his football career at APR in 2002 where he spent three years, making 41 appearances and scoring 16 goals.

In 2005, he joined Belgian side R.A.E.C. Mons, where he made 28 appearances and scored 10 goals. A year later, he joined K.R.C. Mechelen also in Belgium and scored 13 goals in 30 games.

In 2007, Mulisa joined R.F.C. Tournai and bt the time he left the club he had scored 12 goals in 25 games and.

Between 2008-2009, he played for K.F.C. V.W. Hamme making 29 appearances and scoring 10 goals. When he joined K.S.V. Roeselare in 2009, he features in 30 games and managed to score 10 goals.

During the 2010-11 season, he signed for Romanian outfit Fotbal Club Ceahlăul Piatra Neamț, making 27 appearances with 11 goals and the following year, the winger cum striker, joined Football Club Shakhter Karagandy of Russia scoring 10 goals in 31 games. In 2012-13, he played for FC Vostok of Kazakhstan scoring 11 goals in 29 games.

For the 2013 season, he moved to Belgian side A.F.C. Tubize where he played 22 games and scored 8 goals. He ended his career at T-Team FC of Malaysia scoring 8 goals in 15 games.

At the international level, Mulisa won 37 caps.

Meanwhile, Amavubi head coach, Mckinstry on Friday named the squad ahead of the forthcoming international friendlies against South Africa (July 25), Congo Brazzaville (August 27) and DR Congo two days later before facing Ghana in a Group H AFCON 2017 qualifier at Amahoro stadium in September.
