National Taekwondo team head coach Ji-Man Jeong has vowed that his boys will do what it takes to win medals at the African Taekwondo Championship.

The continental tournament is scheduled for November 4-5 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, featuring over 221 athletes from more than 30 African nations.
"I know we are capable of doing well. We have carried out good preparations. We want to win medals. It is a tough competition but the athletes are ready to give their best,” Jeong told the media.
During the competition, gold medalists are expected to be those who garner 120 points, while silver medalists will need to have 50 points. Bronze medallists will need to amass 20 points.

Rwanda will be represented by four athletes. They have been undergoing intensive training over the past three weeks, before flying to Abidjan.
Jeong acknowledged that the championship will have strong athletes, but noted that he expects Rwanda to rise to the occasion.
He called for focus and hard work from his boys, as he promised a tactical display.
Outstanding athletes from this year's African Championship will boost their chances of landing a ticket to the 2024 Olympic Games which will take place in Paris, France.
