Editor, Refer to the story, “GIZ donates equipment to TVETs” (The New Times, July 15). Reading the article, it looks to me like the emphasis is being put on getting TVET graduates develop job search techniques and market themselves to potential employers. Someone tell me if I am wrong, please!
Editor,
Refer to the story, "GIZ donates equipment to TVETs” (The New Times, July 15). Reading the article, it looks to me like the emphasis is being put on getting TVET graduates develop job search techniques and market themselves to potential employers. Someone tell me if I am wrong, please!
If I am not, I would rather suggest that they learn business and entrepreneurial skills, as part of their curriculum, so they can go on to create jobs for themselves.
Currently, the number of jobs waiting for TVET graduates in Rwanda is simply less than the number of graduates themselves. With a high number of university graduates already unemployed, Rwanda would not want to end up with another high number of unemployed graduates, with all the publicity that the TVET concept has been receiving.
