Sorwathe FC host Rwamagana in the second division semi-final return leg this afternoon at Kinihira stadium in Rulindo District hoping to win and qualify for the final. But most important a win will earn the club a promotion to the topflight division.
The first leg played in midweek in Rwamagana town ended 1-1. However, even a goalless draw would be enough to grant Sorwathe the ticket to the first division for the first time.
"We have been training hard as a team and we expect to have positive result, we have no injury problems and all players are fully fit and looking forward to the game ,” Sorwathe FC head coach Jean Jacques Muteba said on Friday.
He added, "Rwamagana is a good team but given the team spirit and morale among my players we surely hope to earn promotion as champions.”
In another semi-final playoff, Bugesera FC who have a 2-0 advantage from their first leg clash, host AS Muhanga at ETO Nyamata grounds.
The two teams that reach the final automatically get promoted to the first division to replace Isonga FC and Etincelles FC, who were relegated at the end of the just concluded 2014/15 season.
