Rwanda has dropped two places in the latest Fifa world rankings. The national team, the Amavubi Stars dropped to 87th place from their 85th spot from last month despite accumulating an extra 10 points.

Kenya (79) tops the Cecafa region’s rankings, eight places above Rwanda who are in second place. Uganda (95), Ethiopia (102) and Sudan (106) complete the top five. 

Cameroon tops the African charts after climbing two places to No.12, two spots ahead of England.

African champions Egypt follow a good ten places behind the Indomitable Lions, with Ghana’s Black Stars three places adrift in 25th. Nigeria (27) and Ivory Coast (29) complete the top five.

European champion Spain still leads the FIFA world soccer rankings.

Italy and Germany remain second-and third-ranked in the monthly rankings released Wednesday.

Brazil is South America’s best, climbing two places to No. 4 overall, while pushing the Netherlands and Croatia down a place each. Argentina remains ranked seventh.

The one change in the top 10 has Russia returning at No. 9 at the expense of fellow Euro 2008 semifinalist Turkey, which drops three places to No. 13. The two traded places in the elite group last month.

Israel climbs three to reach its best-ever ranking of No. 16.

A total of 125 international matches played in the past month, including 106 qualifiers for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa are said to have counted toward the rankings.
