Last week on Saturday, Rwanda marked 21 years since the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF and former RPA) liberated the country; a time to honor men and women who sacrificed their lives to liberate the country.
The Management, Board of Directors, and staff of Umwalimu Sacco, wishes to congratulate His Excellence the President Paul Kagame and Rwanda Defense Force among others for the work well done in liberating Rwandese.
Umwalimu Sacco is a teacher’s savings and credit cooperative established in 2006 with the aim of empowering teachers economically through giving them easy and affordable access to finance through loans. This, the cooperative says, aims at transforming the lives of teachers so that they also contribute to development in their respective areas.
The liberation struggle did not end 21 years ago but rather a continuous process to ensure that the country gets to another level in all sectors. For Umwalimu Sacco, empowering teachers economically is in line with its mission of contributing towards national development.
Teachers invest in education
Members of Umwalimu Sacco consider development of their own and using the financial support towards promoting education which they say will help in creating more jobs for their colleagues, fighting of illiteracy and unemployment.
